In Class:
Don't forget to turn in your Ancient Civilization Presentations!

  1. You will receive one large piece of paper that has a map, key and a timeline.
  2. You will use the same cards as you did yesterday.
  3. Choose a color for that civilization and color that box in the key
  4. Outline the location on the map using the same color.  (DO NOT COLOR IT IN!)
  5. Using the same color, shade the dates on the timeline. (be accurate) It should look like a bar graph when you are done! Use a pencil to draw the beginning and end line. Then double check, colored pencil is hard to erase!
  6. Continue doing this until you have completed it for all civilizations.
  7. The expectation is you finish this today. You may work with a partner.
  8. You will use this sheet on your final assessment be neat and accurate!
  9. Do not take them home, they will be collected at the end of class.
  10. If you finish, you may read, work on other homework. No music, no games, no phones!

**Olmec says 1500 B.C. (You can extend the timeline to match this or leave it at 1000 B.C.)

In Class:

    1. On the table are 11 folders for each ancient civilization. You may take one card back to your desk to use.  
    2. Open up the Presentation titled Ancient Civilization Presentation in Google Classroom.  
    3. Each box has something you need to add from the card.
    4. To add a picture, go to insert, image, and then search.  Type in the whole caption under the picture on the card. If it blocks Chimu gold sacrificial knife try artifact instead of knife.
    5. Try to find a picture that matches as close as you can.  Chavin, I did for you as there was not one!  Maya vase, picture will not be exact, just find one of a vase!!
    6. These do not need to be in any order!  Just get them done.
    7. Don’t spend a lot of time with colors, backgrounds or other things.  Just get all the information.
    8. You will be using this Presentation to take your final test, be accurate and complete.
    9. If you do not finish, it’s homework!
    10. If you do finish, TURN IT IN!!
    11. Please have a couple of responsible students check the folders to make sure there are 6 cards in each folder and they are the correct civilization! (2 orange, 2 blue, 2 green)
